Life will, at times, plunge us into an abyss. You will get rejected. Your business might collapse. You could lose your job. You could get betrayed. Your family or friends could abandon you. You could lose those you love to death.
At times, you might even lose yourself. Your mind will crumble under the pressure of life’s predicaments, enshrouding you with anxiety, hopelessness, and despair. During such times, existence will feel like a heavy burden.
Each day, each moment, each fleeting breath will feel like a brutal chore, a labor through ceaseless pain and agony. You will start questioning why life is out to get you, what you did to deserve such suffering, and how much more of it can you take.
This is the reality of life. A moment of beauty could quickly spiral into chaos so cataclysmic that could lead to our destruction.
It is what it is.
When the sun forsakes you, when you are lost in the darkness, questioning how much more you can bear, learn to whisper back to the voices within: Infinitely more.
For as much as you are suffering, you have today. You have this moment. You have this breath. You are alive – a blessing in itself. That blessing is a testament to the faith God has in you.
A faith that you can summon the strength to overcome and transcend your challenges, even when you turn against yourself. Faith that, no matter how hard your circumstances may be, you will figure it out.
You will figure it out because you’re alive, and because you are, you can handle infinitely more.
I believe the greatest thing that you could ever do for yourself is nurture a tremendous amount of self-belief. To trust in your ability to climb a 90-degree wall with your hands tied behind your back and never give up on yourself even when you fail 1000 times.
No failure can distress you, and no unfavorable circumstances can crush you.
Why? Because you’re alive, and in the finitude of your existence you can infinitely handle the hurdles thrown at you.
“I can see the sun, but even if I cannot see the sun I know it exists. And to know the sun is there – that is living” – Fyodor Dostoevsky
